  • Size: MIN 4x2x2 PER ADULT SNAKE.

​

  • Bedding: Dust-free, non-dyed sand or clay substrate with a generous amount of clean leaf litter. (NO Calcium or Vitamin sand, ground nuts, wood shavings, Linoleum, shelf liners, or reptile carpet.)

​

  • Decor: Solid ceramic food and water bowls. Rocks or logs for basking, Hides, caves, burrows, flagstone and rough stones for shedding.

​

  • Note: Barred top for ventilation. Solid glass reptile tank.

​

  • Lighting: Garter Snakes need a UVI of 2.0-3.0 in their basking area, measured by Solar meter 6.5. Light source distance from basking area (highest point in cage) must be measured by the Solar meter.

​

  • Temp & Humidity:

    • Basking area: 85-90°F (29-32°C)

    • Cool side: 75-80°F (23-27°C)

    • Nighttime: 64-75°F (18-24°C)

    • Humidity: 35-60%. Use measuring gauge.

​

  • Cleaning: Spot clean waste and old food daily. Must be fully cleaned every 2
    weeks. Change substrate, rinse with warm water and dish soap, disinfect
    with vinegar or Hydrogen Peroxide, clean soiled areas or items, re-bed.
