Size: MIN 16x16x16in (PER ADULT HAMSTER) with an 8in pan for burrowing.

Bedding: Recycled paper, newspaper, store-bought paper-based substrate for
bedding. (NO cedar, pine, fabric, fluff)

Note: Barred cage or terrariums acceptable. (Avoid plastic/wood bars and
bottoms. these can be chewed through)

Decor: handmade or store-bought hides, tunnels, and digging boxes for exploration and shelter. Provide high-quality wood, cardboard and hay for chewing.

Cleaning: Must be fully cleaned weekly. Change bedding, rinse with warm water and dish soap, clean soiled areas and remove soiled items. re-bed.

Requires annual vet check-up

Healthy Hamster: Alert and active, clear eyes, no nasal or eye discharge, smooth, clean coat, no lesion, lumps, large scars, discolored skin.

Unhealthy Hamster: over or under weight- decreased appetite, watery stool, "wet tail", skin lumps, hair loss, difficulty breathing, cheek pouch impaction or abscess, lethargy (NOTE: Hamsters are nocturnal and may seem lethargic during the day. make sure to examine their behavior during the early evening or night)

Spaying and/or Neutering is not required. Hamsters should NEVER be kept with the opposite sex even when fixed as it can lead to fighting, stress, and death.
